Thanks

I want to thank everyone that helped me with my trip to the Olympic Trials. I want to mostly thank my family because they have given me all the support I need. Thank you also to Cy Gillette and the Hawaii Saiing Foundation and Joe Starr and the Kaneohe Yachting Foundation for help with all my trips. I want to thank Dan Doyle for arranging logistics (housing, coach boat) here in Houston. Special thanks goes out to Steve Hunt and Eben Russell for letting us charter their boat for this event. I also want to thank Pease Glaser for helping us with a competitive set of sails. I want to thank Molly O'Bryan, Annelise Moore, Kui Lim, and Skip Whyte for helping us get up to speed in the 470. I want to thank Maryknoll High School for excusing me from school to attend this regatta. Mrs. Gunderson, Ms. Taite, Mrs. Martin, Mr. Hermosura, and Mr. Valle you are all the best! You have made it easier to deal with my extra work. I mostly want to thank the Houston Yacht Club and all their Member's for allowing this event to be held at this wonderful location.

Sailing

I have been sailing for approx. five years. Sean and I started sailing with each other at the beginning of summer. We recently competed on the national 420 circuit, going to Atlantic Coast Champs., Youth Champs, and the 420 Nationals. After winning the 420 Nationals, we started training for this event in Kui Lim's 470. After this event, we are planning to go to the International 420 Worlds in Melbourne, Australia.

Me

My name is Martin. I am approx. 130 lbs. and about 5 foot 9. I am 15 years old. I live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I sail for the Kaneohe Yacht Club and the Pearl Harbor Yacht Club. I sail with Sean Doyle, who sails for the Waikiki Yacht Club. I started sailing El Toros at Pearl Harbor Yacht Club then transfered to Kaneohe YC. I started sailing 420s about 3 years ago. I just recently started sailing 470s, within the last half year.
